Wholesale Artificial Plants FAQ: MOQ, VAT, Delivery and Trade Accounts

Accounts and eligibility

How do I open a trade account?

Register online, log in to see trade prices. Registration is on our registration page and uses your email address; you sign in with a one-time code.

Who counts as a trade buyer?

Any business buying in the course of business: retailers, florists, designers, stagers, hospitality, offices, care providers and event companies among others. Sole traders count. By ordering you confirm the purchase is for your business.

Can I buy for my own home?

No. This is a trade-only site; personal purchases should go through a retail site.

Minimum order and multibuy

What is the minimum order?

£150 ex VAT per order, measured on the goods in your basket. Checkout will not complete below it.

Is there a minimum quantity per product?

No. Every line is sold individually and you can mix any lines to reach £150, so one tree such as a 125cm olive tree can sit in the same order as a handful of single stems.

Are stems sold individually?

Yes. Every line is sold individually, including flower stems, foliage stems, ferns and grasses such as the 70cm yellow globe thistle stem, as well as every tree, potted plant and planter. Buy 6 or more items, mixed and matched, across single flower stems, stem ferns & foliage, hanging plants, ceramic storage canisters and any line priced under £8 and a 20% multibuy discount applies automatically.

Prices, VAT and payment

Are prices shown with or without VAT?

Without. All prices are ex VAT, VAT is added at checkout, and you receive a VAT invoice.

Do prices change with the quantity I buy?

Yes, on some ranges. A multibuy discount of 20% applies automatically when you buy 6 or more items, mixed and matched, across single flower stems, fern and foliage stems, hanging plants, ceramic storage canisters and any line priced under £8. Outside those ranges the trade price shown is the price per item, and the other saving on a larger order is free UK mainland delivery once it reaches £300 ex VAT.

Can I see prices without an account?

No. Trade prices show only when you are logged in.

How can I pay?

Up front, by card at checkout, PayPal, bank transfer, or card over the phone. Orders paid by transfer are dispatched once funds clear.

Do you offer credit terms?

Not on this site. Credit may be available if you buy from us through Faire Direct, on Faire's terms.

Delivery and dispatch

How much is delivery?

UK mainland delivery is £14.99 on orders under £300 ex VAT and free on orders of £300 ex VAT or more.

How quickly do you dispatch?

Within one working day of cleared funds, from our warehouse in Louth, Lincolnshire. Delivery dates are estimates.

Is next-day delivery available?

Yes, as a paid extra: order before 10am Monday to Friday for next working day delivery. The delivery page lists £44.99, and the charge can vary with the number of items. It is not available to remote postcodes.

Do large orders come on a pallet?

Generally, yes. Large orders, and orders with several tall trees such as the 200cm traveller palm or the 260cm XXL coco palm, are usually palletised. A pallet redelivery is chargeable, so make sure someone can receive it.

Outside the UK mainland, and packaging boxes

Do you deliver to remote areas and the Highlands and Islands?

Yes. Remote areas are £49.99 and the Scottish Highlands and Islands £99.99. These postcodes are excluded from free and next-day delivery.

Do you deliver to the EU or elsewhere?

By quotation only. Contact us with your basket and full delivery address and we will quote.

Can I order packaging boxes on their own?

No. Packaging boxes such as the 19 × 19 × 100cm long box are palletised and only ship with orders over £500. See the packaging boxes collection and our packaging guide.

Returns, damage and shortages

What if something arrives damaged or short?

Report it within 24 hours of delivery with photos. Report a lost order within 3 days.

What if an item is faulty?

Report it within 14 days and we will credit or replace it.

Can I return something I no longer need?

Only if we agree in writing within 14 days. Agreed returns carry a restocking fee of 20% or £25, whichever is greater. Consumer cancellation rights do not apply to business purchases.

Product information: stock, fire and UV

Can I see stock levels?

Yes. Every product page shows the exact live stock count, and lines with fewer than five left are marked low stock. We don't reserve stock.

Which products are fire-retardant?

Only the 36 lines flagged fire-retardant, such as the 190cm fire-retardant palm garland. Our fire-retardant lines are made from fully tested fire-retardant materials. Testing is carried out at material level to EN 13501-1 (reaction to fire, classification B-s2, d0) and NFPA 701, and the same tested material is used across the range's styles. Test reports are available to trade customers on request, and your venue's fire risk assessment decides what is acceptable in a given location. Which products can go outdoors?

Lines flagged UV-stabilised, 67 in all, most also marked outdoor-suitable, such as the 150cm UV traveller banana palm. UV-stabilised lines contain UV inhibitors that slow colour fade in bright and outdoor positions. All artificial foliage fades gradually in prolonged direct sun; UV-stabilised stock fades far more slowly than untreated stock. We don't publish a lifespan. Can I visit your showroom?

Yes, trade customers can visit our Louth showroom by appointment. Email sales@leafdesignwholesale.co.uk to book.

Do you have a catalogue?

Yes, a free, unpriced trade catalogue in digital form, with printed copies on request. Request it from our catalogue page.

Can I use your product photos on my website?

Logged-in trade customers can use our resource library: product photography and descriptions updated daily, plus a stock and price feed updated hourly.

Do you dropship?

Not from this site. Dropshipping is a separate business, Leaf Dropship, at leafdropship.co.uk, with its own terms.
