Single stems or potted ferns?
Single foliage stems come without a pot and are made for arranging: filling vases, bulking out flower work, dressing garlands or building your own planted displays. Browse them on their own in the single foliage stems collection. Potted ferns and grasses are finished plants for shelves, sideboards and floor positions; they have their own ferns and grasses finder and collection.
Choosing stem length
The height shown is the overall length of the stem or plant in centimetres. We don't hold a separate stem-length or leaf-count field, so read the height alongside the product photos. As a working guide, 30cm to 55cm stems suit low table arrangements and posy work, 60cm to 80cm stems give the body of a vase arrangement, and 90cm to 120cm stems carry tall displays and floor vases. For a balanced vase arrangement, most florists aim for foliage roughly one and a half to two times the height of the vase.
Colour and texture
92 of the 103 lines are green; the rest add accent colour, such as the 80cm pink eucalyptus stem and purple-leaf foliage. Mixing a broad leaf with a fine one gives depth: pair a ficus or laurel spray with the 100cm green eucalyptus or the 120cm Boston fern stem. Use the colour and type chips to narrow the table, and add flower stems from the flower stem finder.
Planning quantities and the multibuy
Every line is sold individually, so order the exact count you need; 6 or more multibuy lines, mixed and matched, earn 20% off. Set the minimum-stock chip to 25, 50 or 100 to show only lines deep enough for a repeat order or a multi-site job, and check the live figure against your total before you order: stock is not reserved, and lines do sell out. Fire-retardant and outdoor lines
Nine lines in this range carry our fire-retardant flag, including the 78cm fire-retardant fern foliage branch. Our fire-retardant lines are made from fully tested fire-retardant materials. Testing is carried out at material level to EN 13501-1 (reaction to fire, classification B-s2, d0) and NFPA 701, and the same tested material is used across the range's styles. Test reports are available to trade customers on request, and your venue's fire risk assessment decides what is acceptable in a given location. Keep all plants clear of heaters, candles, cooking equipment and naked flames. The full flagged range is on fire-retardant artificial plants. Can I buy foliage stems individually?
Yes. Every foliage stem, fern and grass in this range is sold individually, and 6 or more items, mixed and matched across stem ferns & foliage, single flower stems, hanging plants, ceramic storage canisters and any line priced under £8, earn a 20% multibuy discount automatically. There is no separate minimum per line; the only order minimum is £150 ex VAT across your whole order, so you can mix several foliage lines with flower stems, planters or other products to reach it. The finder shows live stock in units, so check there are enough for the quantity you need.
Does the listed height include the whole stem?
Yes. The height is the overall length of the stem or plant in centimetres, and for potted ferns and grasses it is the overall plant height. We do not publish a separate stem-length, leaf-count or head-count figure, so check the product photos and the width figure to judge how full a stem is. If you need to see the density before a bulk order, a single case is the simplest sample.
Which foliage lines can be used outdoors?
Only lines flagged UV-stabilised should be considered for outdoor or very bright positions, and five lines in this range carry that flag. UV-stabilised lines contain UV inhibitors that slow colour fade; all artificial foliage fades gradually in prolonged direct sun, but treated stock fades far more slowly than untreated stock. We do not publish a lifespan. Treat every other line here as indoor stock.

How should I store foliage stems between jobs?
Store stems flat or upright in a dry box, out of direct sun, with heavier stems at the bottom so lighter leaves are not crushed. Most leaves and fronds can be reshaped by hand after transit, and a soft brush or a cool hairdryer setting removes dust before reuse. Keep stems in their case until needed if you are holding stock for a repeat event or a phased installation.
