Choose by length
For trailing lines, the listed height is effectively the hanging length. Use the height band filter to match the drop you need:
- Under 60cm (14 lines): shelf edges, cabinet tops and small wall planters.
- 60cm to 119cm (72 lines): the core range for baskets, planters and high shelves, such as the 100cm maidenhair fern.
- 120cm to 179cm (23 lines): ceiling-hung baskets, mezzanines and stair voids.
- 180cm and over (12 lines): long garlands and trailing plants for beams, pergolas and bar backs.
Supplied without pots
Almost all lines (117) are supplied as bare stems, ready to drop into your own baskets, troughs or planters; browse them as unpotted hanging plants. A few come potted, such as the 90cm potted string of hearts. Everything is sold singly, so order the exact number of positions.
Garlands and runs
Garlands from 140cm to 200cm, including ivy, eucalyptus, fern, pilea and flowering styles such as the 160cm green ivy garland, cover long runs. Divide the run length by the garland length, allow a small overlap at each join, and round up.
Colour
Most lines are green (101), with dusty pink, orange, purple, bronze and cream sprays for seasonal and retail displays. Filter by colour, and pair trailing plants with foliage stems or ferns and grasses for fuller planters.
Fire-retardant and outdoor lines
Fifteen trailing lines are both fire-retardant and UV-stabilised, such as the 71cm pothos, and a 190cm palm garland is fire-retardant. They are made from fully tested fire-retardant material; compare them on the fire-retardant and UV-stabilised hub. Keep all hanging plants clear of heaters, candles, cooking equipment and naked flames. The other lines are for indoor use.

Frequently asked questions
Is the listed height the hanging length?
For trailing plants and garlands, the listed height is effectively the length from the top of the plant to the trailing tips, which is the figure to compare with the drop you need. Measure from the rim of the basket or shelf to the lowest point you want the foliage to reach, then filter by height band.
Do artificial hanging plants come with baskets?
Almost all do not. 117 of the 121 lines are supplied as bare stems without pots, so you can choose baskets, troughs or wall planters to match the venue. A few lines, such as the potted string of hearts and a pothos with planter, arrive potted. Check the pot column on each product page before ordering.
How many garlands do I need for a long run?
Divide the length of the run by the length of the garland, allow a small overlap at each join so there are no gaps, and round up. For example, a 6m beam with 160cm garlands needs four garlands with a little overlap. For a fuller look, twist two garlands together or layer trailing plants beneath.
Which hanging plants can be used outdoors?
Only the fifteen UV-stabilised trailing lines, which are also fire-retardant. They contain UV inhibitors that slow colour fade, though all artificial foliage fades gradually in prolonged direct sun and we don't publish a lifespan. The rest of the hanging range is for indoor use, including covered spaces that stay out of direct sun.
Can trailing plants be used in restaurants and bars?
Yes, they are widely used over bars, booths and shelving. Keep all planting clear of heaters, candles, cooking equipment and naked flames. Where a fire risk assessment calls for it, choose from the fifteen fire-retardant trailing lines, made from fully tested fire-retardant material, with test reports available to trade customers on request.
