Styles in the range
- Large-leaf bamboo shrubs, 65cm: compact and bushy, for desks, window sills and low troughs.
- Fat-leaf bamboo, 90cm and 120cm: broad leaves and a fuller head, such as the 120cm fat-leaf bamboo.
- Natural-look bamboo, 120cm and 150cm: slender canes and finer leaves; the closest match to a real clump.
- Oriental bamboo, 120cm and 150cm: a denser, more stylised canopy.
- Natural green bamboo, 180cm: two tall lines, including the 180cm natural green bamboo, for full-height screens.

With or without a planter
Nine lines come with a separate metal planter in silver, copper or gold, around 20cm wide by 18cm high, for example the 120cm natural-look bamboo with gold planter. The rest arrive in plastic weighted pots for use inside your own planters or troughs; see metal planters and large planters.
Planning a screen
- Most bamboo between 120cm and 180cm is 60cm to 70cm wide. Divide the length of the run by the plant width to get a starting quantity: a 3m run needs about five 60cm-wide plants for a continuous screen.
- For a denser screen, set plants slightly closer and stagger two rows in a long trough.
- Mix heights along a run, for example 150cm and 180cm, to avoid a flat top line.
- Bamboo is sold singly, so order the exact number, and check the stock column covers the whole run in one order.
Outdoor and fire-retardant options
Two lines in the collection are UV-stabilised for outdoor use; the rest are for indoor positions. UV-stabilised lines contain UV inhibitors that slow colour fade in bright and outdoor positions. All artificial foliage fades gradually in prolonged direct sun; UV-stabilised stock fades far more slowly than untreated stock. We don't publish a lifespan. A 200cm fire-retardant natural bamboo tree sits in the fire-retardant range; keep all bamboo clear of heaters, candles and naked flames.

Divide the length of the run by the width of the plant shown in the table. Most bamboo from 120cm to 180cm is 60cm to 70cm wide, so a 3m run needs about five plants for a continuous screen. For a denser result, set them closer or stagger two rows in a long trough, and add height variety.
What is the difference between natural-look and fat-leaf bamboo?
Natural-look bamboo has slender canes and finer leaves, so it reads like a real bamboo clump and suits screens and contemporary interiors. Fat-leaf bamboo has broader leaves and a fuller head, which gives more coverage per plant at 90cm and 120cm. Compare widths in the table to judge how much each covers.
Do the planter versions include the planter?
Yes. Nine bamboo lines are supplied with a separate metal planter in silver, copper or gold, around 20cm wide by 18cm high, so they are ready to place. The other lines come in plastic weighted pots, which are practical rather than decorative, for use inside your own planters, troughs or screening boxes.
Can artificial bamboo be used outdoors?
Only the UV-stabilised lines, which are flagged in the table. They contain UV inhibitors that slow colour fade in bright and outdoor positions, though all artificial foliage fades gradually in prolonged direct sun and we don't publish a lifespan. The rest of the bamboo range is for indoor use or covered, shaded positions away from direct sun.
Is there a fire-retardant artificial bamboo?
Yes. A 200cm natural bamboo tree is fire-retardant and sits in the fire-retardant range rather than this collection. It is made from fully tested fire-retardant material, and test reports are available to trade customers on request. Your venue's fire risk assessment decides what is acceptable, and all plants must be kept clear of heat sources.
