Commercial Outdoor Artificial Planting
Plan exterior schemes from the 66 lines we mark as suitable for outdoor use, all UV-stabilised: entrance topiary, terrace palms and yuccas, grasses for troughs and trailing plants for baskets. The table shows height, type, flags and live stock, so you can check a whole scheme is available before you order. Browse the same lines in the outdoor collection.

Plan by position
- Entrances and shopfronts: symmetry reads well from the street, so most doorways take one matched pair. Twelve outdoor lines are listed as pairs, including bay laurel, buxus cones, spirals, cedar cypress and triple balls, such as the 120cm pair of spiral buxus. See topiary trees and bay trees.
- Terraces and courtyards: palms, yuccas and leafy trees from 120cm to 180cm give height and soften walls, for example the 155cm triple yucca or the 150cm traveller banana palm. See palm and exotic trees.
- Troughs and window boxes: 90cm grasses, a Boston fern and 30cm flower bushes; these trough lines are sold individually.
- Baskets and canopies: 15 trailing lines that are also fire-retardant. Details and test information are on the fire-retardant and UV-stabilised hub. Keep all planting clear of patio heaters, candles, cooking equipment and naked flames.
Stability and ballast
Most outdoor lines arrive in plastic weighted pots that hold them upright indoors, not on an exposed site. Drop each pot into a heavier planter and fill around it with sand or gravel, and choose a planter with a wide base for tall, narrow shapes. In public spaces, keep trees out of door swings and walkways and away from edges where a gust could push them over. Planter options are in large planters.
Fade and upkeep
UV-stabilised lines contain UV inhibitors that slow colour fade in bright and outdoor positions. All artificial foliage fades gradually in prolonged direct sun; UV-stabilised stock fades far more slowly than untreated stock. We don't publish a lifespan. Rinse planting a few times a year to remove grime, which dulls colour faster than sunlight does.
Quantities across several sites
Stock in the table is live and exact, and we do not reserve stock, so shortlist with the minimum stock filter set to 50 or 100 and place a roll-out as one order where you can. Before a repeat order, check the SKU and live stock again, and ask us about continuity if the project runs in phases. For the wider UV range, including indoor lines for bright rooms, see the UV and outdoor hub.

Frequently asked questions
How many topiary trees does an entrance need?
Most single doorways take one matched pair, one tree either side, usually 90cm to 150cm tall depending on the door and frontage. Wide shopfronts often add a second pair at the window ends. Lines with "pair" in the title are listed as two matched trees under one SKU, so check titles before you calculate quantities.
Do outdoor artificial plants need a separate planter?
Usually, yes. The plastic weighted pots most lines arrive in are designed to keep a plant upright indoors. Outside, set the pot inside a heavier planter with a wide base and fill around it with sand or gravel as ballast. This also hides the plastic pot and lets you match planters across a scheme.
How do I check there is enough stock for a multi-site roll-out?
The stock column shows the exact quantity available for each line, and we do not reserve stock. Set the minimum stock filter to 50 or 100 to shortlist lines deep enough for your roll-out, add up the positions across every site, and place the order in one go where you can. Ask us about continuity if later phases will follow.
Will outdoor artificial plants fade?
All artificial foliage fades gradually in prolonged direct sun. UV-stabilised lines contain UV inhibitors that slow colour fade in bright and outdoor positions, so they fade far more slowly than untreated stock. We don't publish a lifespan. South-facing, unshaded positions fade fastest, so check those regularly and keep foliage clean.
Can outdoor planting go near patio heaters or fire pits?
No. Keep all artificial planting clear of patio heaters, fire pits, candles, cooking equipment and naked flames, including the 15 trailing lines that are fire-retardant. Fire-retardant material is treated to slow ignition and flame spread, and your venue's fire risk assessment decides what is acceptable in each location. Plan heater and planting positions together.
